On Tuesday, the Supreme Court once again heard the petition of actress Riya Chakraborty in the case investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. In this case, Riya Chakraborty has filed two petitions in the Supreme Court, on which the court heard today. Advocate Barinder Singh on behalf of the Bihar government, Abhishek Manu Singhvi on behalf of the Maharashtra government, advocate Shyam Dewan on behalf of Riya Chakraborty and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on behalf of the CBI have made their arguments. In such a situation, we tell you which side said what in their arguments.
Riya Chakraborty’s advocate advocate Shyam Dewan said in his plea –
The matter is not related to Patna. When the incident took place in Mumbai, why was the case registered in Patna. Filing an FIR in Patna is legally wrong. There is a suspicion of bias in the FIR registered in Patna 38 days after the incident, so the Mumbai Police should investigate this matter. At the same time, the Patna Police was hesitant to register an FIR but it was registered under pressure from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Sanjay Jha. After this, the Supreme Court asked Shyam Dewan that do you want the CBI to investigate this matter? In response to this, Shyam Dewan said that Mumbai Police should first take up the matter, after which CBI investigation will be talked about.
Maharashtra government lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said in the plea –
after lawyer Shyam Diwan on behalf of Riya Chakravarti, Maharashtra government lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued before the Supreme Court that it was wrong to file an FIR in Bihar. Doing so is an attempt to abolish the federal structure. We have not seen so much hue and cry regarding a transfer petition. Singhvi has said in his plea that elections are going to be held in Bihar, so all this is happening. The order of the CBI inquiry can go to the High Court or the Supreme Court or the state government in which the incident took place can demand a CBI inquiry. There is also the question here whether a single bench can transfer any matter from one state to another?
Bihar government lawyer Maninder Singh said in his plea –
Maninder Singh said that it was necessary to register an FIR in Patna in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. It needs to be ascertained whether he was murdered or he committed suicide. Even after so many days, the Mumbai Police did not register any FIR. Political pressure is not in Bihar but Maharashtra, that is why FIR has not been registered in Mumbai till now. What is the Maharashtra government trying to hide? The issue of territorial rights cannot be raised at the stage of initial investigation. Until the investigation is completed and the report is not submitted, the transfer application cannot be filed in the case.
Advocate Vikas Singh, father of
Sushant Singh Rajput , said in his plea – KK Singh, father of Sushant Singh Rajput, only wants trial in this case. Mumbai Police investigation is not trusted. The Mumbai Police is taking the investigation in another direction. Mumbai Police has sent summons to all but the suspects and the accused have not been summoned till now. Riya Chakraborty had kept everything under control, but the Mumbai Police has not questioned him yet. At the court hearing, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father said that the important thing is that I have lost my son. Sushant had a scar on his neck and his sister lived 10 minutes away from him but the room was opened before he reached home, there was no waiting till the sister arrived.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta from CBI said in the plea-
After quarantining Bihar SP Vinay Tiwari, the Maharashtra government made a change in the rule on August 3, the next day, to obstruct the investigation. It should be ensured that there should not be a quarantine rule for the police officers involved in the investigation. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the CBI, said that Riya Chakraborty is a victim or an accused or a complainant in this case, we do not know, but the day Riya filed a transfer petition in the Supreme Court, someone in Mumbai against her Neither case was pending. The affidavit of the Mumbai Police suggests that she is assuming that Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide. Let us tell you that after the marathon hearing which lasted for about three hours, the Supreme Court has reserved the decision on Ria Chakraborty’s transfer petition.
