The Delhi High Court has sought answers from the jail administration for providing TV facilities for the entertainment of the prisoners living in the High Security Ward. Actually, the public interest litigation for prisoners in the court was going on. During this time, the court told the jail administration that if inmates can be given many other facilities including yoga, books, magazines, then give them TV facilities. Anyway, the prisoners living in the High Security Jail go through many problems. .
The court said during the hearing that the jail administration is not being asked to give moon stars by breaking anyway, only to be given TV. The difference between the prisoners living inside the prison and the people outside the society is the only restriction of movement. In such a situation, prisoners living in the High Security Ward can be given the facility of watching TV.
However, the court said that the TV remote should not be given to the prisoners and the reason for giving it to the prisoners personally should be put in the common area. Also, following the discipline, a time limit should also be fixed for watching film music on TV. The court has told the jail administration that on the next date, they should file their reply regarding installing TV sets for the prisoners living in the High Security Board.
What is the matter?
A PIL has been filed in the Delhi High Court. In which it has been said that in view of Corona, the mental condition of the prisoners living in the High Security Ward can worsen day by day. Because since Corona, his family members have been barred from meeting in jail. He stays locked in his cell all day. In such a situation, any means of entertainment should be provided once in 24 hours to keep the prisoners in a normal life, and to keep them away from mental diseases.
In this PIL filed by the Delhi Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, it has been said that in view of security, it is not possible for the prisoners of the High Security Zone to meet the common inmates. In such a situation, the prisoners of the High Security Zone have been completely cut off from the society, socially and family. In such a situation, his chances of becoming mentally ill have increased. Therefore, if the court orders the jail administration to allow these prisoners to watch TV for entertainment for some time, then the prisoners can be saved from being psychiatric.
