Central Vigilance Commission has asked all the departments of the Central Government to send investigation reports on complaints of corruption in time. The Commission warned that it would be taken seriously if it did not adhere to the deadline.
CVC receives reports from the Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs) of central government departments or organizations on complaints of corruption. Investigation report on corruption complaints has to be sent to the CVC within three months from the date of being referred to the CVO.
CVC states that the departments or organizations do not follow the prescribed deadlines due to which there is excessive delay in such cases and timely action on complaints is not possible. CVOs often do not even give valid reasons for this delay.
CVC order states that CVOs will personally review all pending complaints in the first week of every month. If investigation is not possible within the specified time frame, then in every case, giving reasons, we will seek extension of time.
