To reduce the problem of pollution, the Delhi government will now insist on electric vehicles. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed the press conference on Friday. The new electric vehicle policy has now been notified in Delhi. Delhi CM said that our two goals are to reduce pollution and strengthen the economy. This policy of Delhi will be discussed in the world in the next five years.
According to the Delhi CM, at present, this policy is for the next three years. We will review it after that, but if there is any need before that, we will consider it. CM said that in the last two and a half years we have discussed this policy a lot, it is not a policy made by officers sitting in an AC room.
Arvind Kejriwal said that our goal is that at least 25 percent of the new vehicle registers in Delhi by 2024 should be electric vehicles. Right now they are only 0.2 per cent.
Delhi CM announced that on getting a two-wheeled electric vehicle , the government will get an incentive of up to Rs 30,000, while on taking a car, you will get an incentive of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. Jobs will also come through this, scraping incentives will also be given. That is, if you take an electric vehicle by giving your petrol or diesel vehicle, you will get an incentive.
Arvind Kejriwal said that this is more than the incentive the central government is giving today. A network of very large charging stations will be created inside the entire Delhi, a target has been set to create a network of 200 charging stations in the next 1 year. Also, the government will give loan waivers to provide electric commercial vehicles.
