Rajasthan’s Gehlot cabinet has passed a resolution calling for the assembly session. The cabinet again approved the proposal, which will be sent to Governor Kalraj Mishra. CM Gehlot will also meet Governor Kalraj Mishra. Also, we will submit a proposal to the Governor for convening the assembly session.
Gehlot government is demanding the governor to call a special session of the assembly. CM Gehlot wants to conduct floor test. They want to prove to their opponents that they have a majority. But Governor Kalraj Mishra has not been able to take a decision yet on the demand of Gehlot Cabinet.
MLAs of Gehlot faction also staged a sit-in at Raj Bhavan on Friday. Kalraj Mishra had also met the MLAs then and said that we have heard your demand. Kalraj Mishra also said that the matter is in the Supreme Court.
At the same time, CM Gehlot is not ready to back down from his demand. In a meeting with legislators in Jaipur today, he said that you (MLAs) should be ready, if you have to sit for 21 days, you will stay here. If you have to go to the President, you will also go there or if you have to go to Delhi to sit outside the Prime Minister’s residence, then you will also go to Delhi.
Congress’s performance against BJP
On the other hand, the Congress is staging a sit-in protest against the BJP at all the district headquarters of the state today. The Congress has accused the BJP of crushing democratic values in the state. The party alleges that the BJP is plotting to topple the Gehlot government in Rajasthan.
