In Rajasthan, the merger of Bahujan Samaj Party MLAs with the Congress has been challenged in the High Court and questions have been raised. Now Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given a statement in this matter. The CM says that if the Bharatiya Janata Party merges four MPs, then how did it go right and we got it wrong.
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan said that where has the character of the Bharatiya Janata Party gone, I want to ask. Please tell that four Rajya Sabha MPs of TDP had merged with Bharatiya Janata Party, on which Ashok Gehlot asked a question. The CM of Rajasthan said that if the merger in the Rajya Sabha is okay then how did it go wrong in the Assembly here.
Rajasthan: stir before the session, 53 MLAs of Gehlot faction left for Jaisalmer
Let me tell you that when the Congress was in a crisis of majority after the assembly elections, then 6 BSP MLAs merged with the Congress. It was approved by the assembly speaker and it became valid. But during the political turmoil in the past, a whip was issued by the BSP to its MLAs. In this whip, they were asked to vote against the Congress.
However, the BSP MLAs who have been in the Congress said that now they are part of the Congress and Ashok Gehlot is their leader, in such a case the merger of BSP is not valid on them. The Bahujan Samaj Party has approached the Rajasthan High Court regarding this matter. On which notice has been given to the rebel MLAs and the speaker, on which the next hearing is to be held on August 11.
The assembly session starts on August 14, in which the political stir has increased in Rajasthan. This is the reason that the Congress is increasing its faction and is trying to strengthen it.
