Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the proposal for expansion of National Cadet Corps (NCC) in 173 border and coastal districts. An official statement was released on Sunday and informed about this. Explain that the expansion of NCC was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech on Saturday.
During this, he said that NCC will be expanded in the border and coastal districts. He said that people in the border and coastal districts would be trained for disaster management and the youth would also be trained to make a career in the armed forces. In the statement of the Ministry of Defense, the cow said that Rajnath Singh has approved this proposal regarding NCC. More than 1,000 schools and colleges have been identified in the border and coastal districts where NCC will be introduced.
The Defense Ministry in its statement also said that a total of one lakh cadets from 173 border and coastal districts will be included in the NCC. One third of them will be girls. A total of 83 NCC units (Army 53, Navy 20, Air Force 10) will be upgraded under this scheme to provide NCC training to cadets in the border and coastal areas. The Army will provide training and administrative support to NCC units located in the border areas. Similarly, the Navy will provide support to NCC units located in coastal areas and the Air Force close to their stations.
Explain that NCC is managed by the armed forces. It provides an opportunity for cadets to be involved in a wide variety of activities, with emphasis on social services, discipline and adventure training. This may include regular students from all schools and colleges on a voluntary basis. The NCC expansion plan will be implemented in partnership with state governments.
