Delhi Government Will Form A Committee To Stop Sexual Harassment At Work Instructions Issued

The Delhi government is going to form a 5-member committee for the prevention of sexual harassment of women at the workplace. The Women and Child Development Department has also issued instructions to all the departments of the Government of Delhi, autonomous bodies and private sector companies.

All district magistrates have also been directed to constitute a local committee to meet the statutory requirements under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2013.

Delhi Women and Child Development Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam held a review meeting for effective implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women (Prevention, Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2013 at the workplace.

Cabinet Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam said that he has directed the Delhi Women and Child Development Department to constitute a 5-member committee for observing and monitoring the Sexual Harassment of Women (Prevention, Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2013 at the workplace. This committee will include representatives of NGOs and civil society, including government officials.

Women and Child Development Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam said that in the first phase, he has ordered a meeting with the heads of all the departments of the government through video conferencing, so that the heads of the departments concerned follow the Act in their respective departments.
