Delhi violence: Petitioner Demand From High Court- FIR Should Be Lodged Against Congress-AAP Leaders

On the violence in Delhi, petitioner Ajay Gautam has demanded the High Court to register an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party and some Congress leaders in this case. With this, Ajay Gautam said in his petition that behind the anti-CAA demonstrations, there should be an NIA inquiry into the support of anti-national forces.

Delhi Police has also filed its reply regarding the deep conspiracy behind these demonstrations. Investigation by Delhi Police alone is not sufficient in these cases. NIA investigation of this deep conspiracy is necessary. The High Court has asked the Delhi Police to respond to the pleas made by the petitioners till next week. The hearing in this case will be held again next week.

DCP personally supervise the investigation – Delhi High Court

The court has given instructions to ensure a fair investigation in the North-East Delhi riots case. It was brought to the notice of the court that the police have not yet seized or secured video-footage related to the riots at the Zafarabad and Maujpur metro stations and with the cameras of the photographers.

Emphasizing the importance of video footage in the case, the Additional Sessions Judge asked the DCP to personally supervise the investigation. The court passed the order till August 14, extending the judicial custody of Pinjar Tod activists Devangana Kalita, Natasha Narwal and former Congress councilor Ishrat Jahan. This case of Delhi violence is being investigated by Delhi Special Cell under UAPA case.
