Cabinet Minister Kamal Rani Varun has died due to Corona epidemic in Uttar Pradesh. She was the Minister of Technical Education in the Yogi Adityanath government. He belonged to Kanpur. A state mourning has been announced today in Uttar Pradesh on his death.
Kamal Rani was infected with Corona and was undergoing treatment at PGI, Lucknow. She was infected with Corona on 18 July last month. He was later admitted to Lucknow PGI for treatment.

Kamal Rani, 62, was constantly active on social media until shortly before Varun passed away. Shortly before his death, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani wished his birthday. Earlier on Saturday, many tweets were retweet. At the same time, condolences on the demise of senior leader Amar Singh were tweeted.
On August 21 last year, Kamal became a Technical Minister (Technical Education Minister) in the UP government. In terms of politics, Kamal Rani has played a big role in strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party in Ghatampur area of Kanpur. As a councilor, he started his political career.
Kamal Rani was born on 3 May 1958 in the capital Lucknow. He earned a Masters degree in Sociology from Lucknow University. She was married to Kishan Lal Varun on 25 May 1975. They both have a daughter and a son.
Her husband Kishan Lal used to work in LIC and she was also associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Before entering politics, Varun used to provide education to poor children and sewing and embroidery to women in service centers run by the association.
2 times Lok Sabha MP
Kamal Rani has been recognized as one of the brightest politicians in Kanpur region. In the 2017 assembly elections, he won from Ghatampur assembly constituency. Ghatampur assembly constituency under Kanpur Nagar Lok Sabha constituency is reserved for scheduled castes. Kamal Rani was elected from here in the 2017 election.
Kamal Rani got 92,776 votes in the 2017 election which was 48.52 percent of the total votes. He defeated Saroj Kuril of BSP. Kamal had taken this seat from Samajwadi Party. Kamal opened the account of Bharatiya Janata Party 3 years ago from this seat.

Earlier, Kamal Rani was also a Lok Sabha MP twice. She was elected to the 11th and 12th Lok Sabha. After winning the 1996 Lok Sabha elections, Kamal opened an account for the Bharatiya Janata Party from here.

The special thing is that he also won the 1998 Lok Sabha elections. This Lok Sabha seat remained in existence till 2008, later it was abolished. On this seat, Radheshyam Kori of Samajwadi Party won the last Lok Sabha election in 2004.
In Ghatampur area, which is a stronghold of SP and BSP, Kamal Rani worked hard and strengthened the Bharatiya Janata Party there and that is why she became the first MP from Ghatampur for BJP and was also elected MLA for the first time.
