JJ Colony Slum Cluster of Noida consists of sectors 5, 8, 9 and 10. By June 30, 90 cases of infection from Corona were reported from this cluster. In Sector 8 alone, about half of the total positive cases of this cluster were reported. Seeing the high speed of Corona in this cluster, at one time it was being compared to Dharavi in Mumbai. JJ Colony Slum Cluster was also known as Dharavi of Noida.
In the month of July from JJ Colony Cluster, there has been news giving relief to the administration. Not a single new case of infection from this cluster has come to light in July. Regarding how Corona came to be controlled in this area, officials claim that with the untiring efforts, the right strategy and proper guidance of the Corona Warriors, the situation was controlled even before this cluster became a big hotspot.
In Noida, Corona Nodal Officer Narendra Bhushan said that it was decided to check four thousand people daily to control the uncontrollable Corona infection. For this, the campaign was conducted from 2 to 12 July. He said that the Noida administration is going to every sector and giving information about health to the people. The public is also being made aware of social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands with soap repeatedly and sanitizing them.
The nodal officer claimed that due to these efforts by the administration, the infection in clusters with more corona cases could be controlled. He said that intensive screening and investigation is also being done at Containment Zones in the district. In Containment Zones, intensive tests are also being done for patients with symptoms, kidney patients, pregnant women, TB patients, cancer patients etc. Narendra Bhushan said that around 1500 teams of doctors, nurses and lab technicians are engaged in this work. All teams have been trained in the entire process of investigation.
On July 21, 52 new cases of infection from Corona were reported. With new cases, the number of infected people has reached close to 4300. It is a matter of relief that till now 3274 infected patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital. A total of 979 infected patients are still undergoing treatment in different hospitals of the district. So far, 40 infected people have died due to corona in Noida.
