Rajya Sabha by-election: Jayaprakash Nishad filled up form, Rajbhar attacked BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party has finalized its candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election in Uttar Pradesh. The party has made Jai Prakash Nishad its candidate from this seat. By making Jai Prakash Nishad a candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections, the BJP has tried to help the backward and OBC voters of the state. This by-election is to be held on 24 August.

After the demise of Samajwadi Party leader Beniprasad Verma, BJP has fielded Jai Prakash Nishad as the candidate for the by-election. After which Jai Prakash Nishad filed his nomination on Thursday.

However, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) President Om Prakash Rajbhar says that the BJP has taken this decision to end the influence of the Nishad Party. Attacking the BJP, he said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has betrayed another ally, which proves that it is the Bharatiya Jhoot Party.

Talking to Aaj Tak, Rajbhar said, ‘BJP is a party betraying its allies. Before the elections in 2017, BJP took us along to get the votes of Rajbhar and other extremely backward castes. But after the formation of the government, when we asked for the participation of our society, the government reversed the promise. So we broke the alliance and formed a partnership front. The government has also cheated Anupriya Patel. Taking his Kurmi vote bank, he also sidelined his party.

According to Rajbhar, before the 2017 elections, it was said that Keshav Prasad Maurya would become the Chief Minister. On this condition, the backwards supported the BJP, but someone else got the CM’s chair. If the BJP were to send any Nishad to the Rajya Sabha, then Nishad would make the President of the party Sanjay Nishad a candidate. The work of cheating the Nishad society and party has also been done. The BJP wants to end the Nishad Party’s influence in Purvanchal.

Rajbhar, who was a minister in the Yogi government, has formed a participation front and recently met AAP MP Sanjay Singh for an alliance in the 2022 election. The Samajwadi Party had defeated the BJP in the Chief Minister’s stronghold in the by-election in Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat. After this, before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Nishad Party had left the SP and formed an alliance with the BJP and Ravi Kishan won the Gorakhpur seat easily. Nishad Party is considered to be the major vote bank of Eastern UP.

On Rajbhar’s statement, UP BJP spokesperson Dr. Chandramohan said that BJP selects candidates from the hard working grassroots workers. People like Rajbhar are engaged in dividing the society only by talking about caste. The society does not take any of his things seriously.
