There is a temple dedicated to Lankapati Ravana in Bisarkha of Gautam Buddha Nagar. The priest of this temple said that after the ritual of Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya is over, they will distribute sweets in the temple.
Very happy with Bhoomi Poojan
Talking to news agency PTI, he said that he is very happy that Bhoomi Pujan is being done for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. I will distribute laddus and celebrate. Bhoomipujan is a really good step for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. I am happy that a huge temple is going to be built there.
People came to know Rama because of Ravana
Temple priest Mahant Ramdas said that if Ravana had not been there, people would not have known about Rama and Lankesh would not have existed without Lord Rama.
According to local folklore, Bisarkha is the birthplace of Ravana. The priest of the temple said that we all call it Ravana Janmabhoomi. Describing Ravana as a scholar, the priest said that Ravana must have kidnapped Sita but he did not take her to his palace but kept it in Ashoka Vatika.
Ravana also practiced decorum
Mahant Ramdas said that Ravana had appointed women guards to protect Sita. If Ram is called Maryada Purushottam, then Ravana also followed Maryada to some extent.
Apart from Ravana, there are statues of Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Kubera, the god of wealth, in the Ravana temple in Bisarkha. Mahant Ramdas said that 20 percent of the people in this temple come to worship Ravana.
