The International Cricket Council (ICC) has clarified that if Australia hosts the T20 World Cup in 2021 instead of India, all tickets purchased for the tournament this year will be valid. A day earlier, the ICC has decided to postpone the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October this year for a year.
After this, the fans had asked the ICC what would happen to the tickets purchased this year? Responding to the same question, the ICC said that if Australia gets to host the T20 World Cup in 2022, whoever bought tickets for the postponed tournament this year will get a full refund.

ICC has announced to postpone the T20 World Cup for one year, but in 2021 and 2022, which country will be the T20 World Cup, it has not been disclosed yet. Because there are many technical hurdles related to it, which both the cricket board will have to sit and sort out.
It is not yet clear whether India and Australia will exchange the 2021 and 2022 T20 World Cups. Both World Cups will be held in October-November. As per the old schedule, the 2021 T20 World Cup is to be held in India.
Australia had demanded for the T20 World Cup in 2021
Cricket Australia (CA) head Earl Eddings has already written to the ICC that CA does not want to postpone the World Cup until 2022. He wants the tournament to be held in late 2021, but in 2021 India has hosted the tournament. Now, if the ICC agrees with the CA and the BCCI is ready, then only in 2021 Australia can get the T20 World Cup in itself.
Australia to host T20 World Cup in 2021
The good thing for Australia is that it has already prepared for the tournament. In such a situation, if there is agreement between the ICC, CA and BCCI, then this tournament could be held in Australia next year. However, in the event of this happening, the BCCI may face trouble, because then it will have to get T20 in October-November of 2022 and in ODI World Cup in 2023, which is not easy.
It is not easy for the BCCI to hold the World Cup for two consecutive years
For this, the BCCI will have to convince future tour programs of other countries, travel of players and hotel accommodation, hunt for sponsors and broadcasters. By the way, both the T20 and ODI World Cup are happening in October-November, when the country has a festive season. In such a situation, this time can be considered good in terms of revenue.
